Buy a Number
Click Buy Number to open the number picker. US local numbers are provisioned through Twilio and are usually available instantly — no special paperwork is required for standard use.
Most US local numbers activate immediately. Some number types (for example toll-free or numbers in regulated regions) may need a verified business address or extra carrier review before they go live.
Picking a Number
Filter the available numbers, then buy the one you want:

Pick a number from the list — each row shows its monthly rental — and click Buy.
What You Pay

| Monthly rental | ~$1.22 for a US local number (carrier cost + 6% margin) |
You're charged the setup fee plus the first month's rental immediately. After that, the rental renews monthly until you release the number.
A number stays active only while your balance can cover the monthly rental. If a renewal fails, you get a grace period to top up before the number is released back to the carrier. Keep at least $5 in your balance, or enable auto-recharge.
What Happens Next
- Number purchased — Twilio provisions the number to your account
- SIP configured — letustalk.ai wires up the SIP routing automatically
- Assign an agent — pick an inbound agent so calls route to your AI
- Ready to use — call the number from your own phone to test it
Most US local numbers are usable within a minute or two of purchase.
After Buying
Once your number is active, you can:
- Assign it to an agent from the Phone Numbers page
- Edit the friendly name or change the assigned agent at any time
- View per-minute usage charges in your Billing page
